Basingstoke and Deane Peace Garden – Children’s Art Competition – ends tomorrow! (13th July)

What does Peace mean to you?

– Why not let us know by entering the children’s competition to design a picture, a poem or some text that tells us what peace means to you.

As part of the Basingstoke and Deane Peace Garden being created in War Memorial Park we want to include bronze plaques designed by local children, to be set into the paving.

The competition is open to children resident within the Borough with categories for 4 to 10 year olds and 11 to 16 year olds.

Five winning entries will be chosen from each category and turned into plaques which will be set into the paving in time for the opening of the garden on International Day of Peace on Friday 21st September.

(All entries will be displayed in the town centre after the opening).

Entries must be an original idea reflecting the aim of the garden to create a quiet space for everyone to enjoy as a lasting celebration of peace and reconciliation.

To take part in the competition, find out more and download the plaque template visit www.basingstoke.gov.uk/peacegarden or email peacegardenadvisorygroup@basingstoke.gov.uk to request a paper template for your design.

Entries must be in black and white, not colour and the closing date is Friday 13 July.
